Troubleshooting Tips for Starting a BackHug Session

If you're experiencing issues when trying to start a BackHug session in either a home or shared environment, try the following steps to resolve the problem.

If you encounter problems starting a session with your BackHug device, follow these steps to troubleshoot:

Check the Power Connection

  1. Ensure Proper Plugging:

    • Confirm that the BackHug device is properly plugged into the wall socket and that the socket is switched on.
    • The power cable should be securely connected to the BackHug device, which is located underneath the unit.
  2. Switch On:

    • Locate the O/I switch (off/on) under the device and make sure it is in the "I" (on) position.
    • The Leg Rest Release button should illuminate when the device is powered on. Remember, this button is not a power button and should only be used in emergencies.

Proximity to the Device

  1. Stand Close to BackHug Device:
    • Ensure you are within 2 meters (approximately 6.5 feet) of the BackHug device when attempting to start a session.
    • Although BackHug has a strong Bluetooth signal, other devices might interfere occasionally. Staying close helps maintain a stable connection.

Enable Bluetooth & Location Services

  1. Activate Necessary Services:

    • Ensure that Bluetooth and location services on your phone are enabled and allowed.
    • Your phone connects to the BackHug device via Bluetooth. Location services assist with booking sessions and, in the case of Android devices, are often necessary for Bluetooth connections.
  2. Using the BackHug App:

    • You do not need to see the BackHug device in the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone.
    • Connection to the BackHug device can only be made using the BackHug mobile app.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to resolve common issues and start your BackHug session smoothly. If problems persist, please contact our support team for further assistance.
